Bal~Anat Performances 2001 and 2002;

2002 Renaissance Pleasure Faire starts Sept 14th thru Oct 20 in the South Bay area.
2001 included; June 30th in S.F., July 28 in Oakland, Labor Day weekend and weekends to mid October, Renaissance Faire.

Ernest Fischbach was the Band Leader and music composer for Jamila Salimpour's Belly Dance Troupe, "Bal~Anat" 1969-73. His music for Jamila has been called, "American Tribal".
June 30th of this year Ernie will debut his new band for "Bal~Anat" with Jamila's daughter, Suhaila Salimpour, dancing and Ernie's daughter, Melissa Fischbach on drums.

Weekends starting Aug 25 and 26th. Ernie and Suhaila with Bal~Anat will be performing on the Main stage, 1 and 4 PM at the Northern California Rennaissance Pleasure Faire in Nut tree, Vacaville, close to Sacramento, California. Melissa will not regularly be performing at the faire, you may see Marianne Steeger, Barbara Brown or Deborah Fischbach playing percussion there occasionally. In fact Marianne Steeger was playing tupan (base stick drum) almost every faire day.
2002 Faire dates, Sept 14 thru Oct 20th, at a new location, just South of the Bay area.

Bal~Anat also performed at 2002 Rakkasah in March and July 2001 in Oakland Ca.for Rakkasah's "Summer Caravan" three day event. The Bal~Anat band, "Zincali" includes; Ernie + Melissa Fischbach, David Brown, Chris Caswell and Brian Steeger, on oboes, bagpipes and drums. BalAnat usually adds a few drummers not listed here (with Zincali musicians).
